Shadowrocket Features and Settings

Start by distinguishing how traffic is handled, then adjust connection conditions. These six topics cover different parts of everyday setup; you don’t need to enable everything at once.

Global Routing and Rule Order

In Home > Global Routing, Config routes traffic according to the rules in the current configuration, Proxy uses the selected proxy, and Direct connects without a proxy. For everyday rule-based routing, select Config, then open Config to check which files are enabled and the order of their rules. Rules are usually matched from top to bottom, so put more specific conditions before broader ones. The example on the right shows syntax, not a complete configuration. The policy referenced by PROXY must match your setup, while FINAL determines how other requests are handled.

First-Time Setup: What to Check and When

For the first setup, make sure you have a working subscription or server details. Then import them, select a node, choose Global Routing, turn on the connection, and complete the system authorization. The connection toggle, proxy node, and routing mode are three separate things to check: turning on the toggle does not mean the expected node is selected, and a working node does not mean all requests use it. Record each setting separately to give yourself a clear baseline for later changes.

If only one website is having trouble, check which rule it matches before replacing the entire configuration. If every destination is affected, check whether your current network has internet access, whether the subscription updated successfully, and whether the server settings are valid. Change one condition at a time and record the result. Changing nodes, configurations, and networks all at once can make a temporary fix look like proof that one setting worked. For full instructions, see the User Guide; for specific settings, see Features and Settings.

Purchase Details / App Store Facts

Client Purchase ≠ Service Plan

You’re purchasing the Shadowrocket client. Get subscriptions and nodes from your service provider. This site does not provide, sell, or recommend nodes or subscription services.

Check the Developer, Icon, and App ID Together

On the App Store product page, check that the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited, compare the app with the official icon shown here, and confirm that the product page URL contains app ID 932747118. The icon should have a white background with a blue-purple outline, and the app name should be Shadowrocket. A similar name or search-result position is not enough: open the product page, verify the full details, and then purchase.

The app ID identifies the specific product in the store, the developer name confirms who published it, and the icon provides another way to identify it. All three should match. If any detail differs, stop before purchasing and return to the app access guide to verify the link. This is the official Shadowrocket website and user guide; verify the product against information on its App Store page, not a rating or ranking.

What the One-Time Purchase Covers

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app available as a one-time purchase on the App Store. The U.S. reference price is $2.99; other storefronts show local currency. Check the App Store page for actual pricing and purchase availability. Your app purchase record and your subscription with a service provider are separate. Buying the client does not provide a server address, authentication details, or a subscription URL.

To use the same purchase account on iPhone and iPad, first check your purchase history and the store’s terms to see whether another purchase is needed. Check the App Store page and your account settings to see whether Family Sharing is available and which members and devices it covers. A one-time payment for the client is separate from the validity period of a service-provider subscription.

App Store Availability and Account Region

If you can’t find the app, first check the spelling, the account currently signed in for purchases, and its App Store country or region. Then see whether the product page opens. App availability varies by storefront, and your device language does not indicate which storefront you’re using. Check your region, payment method, and account status in your account settings; don’t infer them from the language displayed on the page.

If the product page says the app can’t be purchased or isn’t compatible with your device, start with that message and check the system requirements, account restrictions, and payment status. Always refer to the App Store page for system requirements. For details about storefront regions and the purchase process, see the App Store Access Guide, which explains what to check at each step.

Restore Purchases, Update the App, and Back Up Configurations

When switching devices or reinstalling, sign in with the original purchase account and find Shadowrocket in your App Store purchase history. Check that the app ID matches. App updates come through the App Store; check the store for available updates and automatic update settings. Whether an update is available depends on the store record on your device, not static information on a website.

Restoring a purchase helps you get the client again; restoring a configuration helps you recover your setup data. Before switching devices, check your iCloud sync status, configuration file backups, and saved subscription URL. After restoring, check the node list, selected configuration, and Global Routing before testing the connection. Store backups containing sensitive information securely. Don’t post full subscription URLs or authentication fields in public support requests.

How to Get Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad

Get Shadowrocket on both devices from the same App Store product page. First check compatibility and purchase history, then install the app and review the system authorization needed for the first connection.

iPhone

Check the App Store product page and purchase Shadowrocket, then prepare your existing subscription or server details after installation. When you connect for the first time, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration. Read the prompt and confirm as instructed by your device. This step adds a system connection configuration; it does not purchase a service plan.

After authorization, return to Home and check the selected node under SERVER and your Global Routing setting. Then turn on the connection and visit a destination you want to test. The system connection indicator alone doesn’t confirm how traffic is routed; check actual access and rule matching as well.

iPad

First, use the same purchase account to check your App Store purchase history, then get the app as directed on the product page. Refer to the store for general purchase terms and device compatibility. The larger display may change the layout; use interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings to find your way.

After installing on another device, check whether your nodes and configuration have been restored. Even with the same account, check your subscription, selected node, configuration files, and system authorization individually. Restoring purchase history does not mean all your setup data has synced.

Shadowrocket is also available from the same App Store on Mac and Apple TV. Check the App Store page for compatibility and system requirements.

First Identify Which Step Is Causing the Problem

Trouble opening the App Store product page, completing payment, or installing the app is an app access issue. If the app is installed but a subscription won’t import, check the URL and import results. If it imports but you can’t connect, check the node, Global Routing, and network. Each step calls for different information; troubleshooting in order preserves useful clues better than repeatedly reinstalling.

If only some apps or websites have trouble after connecting, first check how their traffic is routed and whether it matches the expected rule. If results differ between Wi-Fi and cellular, also check On Demand conditions and whether the current network can reach the destination. When reporting a problem, describe the steps you took, the error message, and the tests you’ve already tried. Don’t include your full subscription URL or authentication details in a public post. See Troubleshooting for more specific guidance.

Configuration, Device Migration, and Purchase Guides

Choose what to read based on your next step: verify the official app before purchasing, back up your setup before switching devices, or review Global Routing if connections don’t behave as expected.

Keep Original Field Names When Reading Protocol Guides

Protocol guides explain what fields do; they don’t replace the actual server details you need. When reading about VMess, VLESS, Trojan, or Hysteria2, keep protocol names and interface labels in English and match each parameter to the corresponding field in Add Server. Two nodes sharing an address doesn’t mean they can use the same port, authentication, or transport settings. Use the details provided by your service provider to determine what to enter.

After you have a working setup, record the selected node, enabled Config, and test conditions. Before changing rules or trying different connection conditions, keep a working copy and test one variable at a time. This makes it easier to restore a working setup if a change doesn’t help, and to find the relevant guide section instead of repeatedly guessing across multiple settings pages.
